You can hop on the bus at any of the designated stops to start your tour. On this Athens Hop-On Hop-Off Tour you have the freedom to plan your own sightseeing itinerary. There are 5 options available for with this hop-on, hop-off tour that will take you the major historical sites in Athens as well as show you the modern developments, if you choose to explore Piraeus and Beach Riviera with the Athens tour.
Founded more than 3500 years ago, Athens is held to be the birthplace of democracy and the cradle of modern civilization. The city was in its golden age during the 5th century BC when the Parthenon was constructed. After a troubled history it regained its importance in the 19th century when it became the capital of modern Greece.
During the hop-on, hop-off tour, you can jump off the bus to go sightseeing or shopping and jump on again as the mood takes you. With departures every 15 minutes during the day, you will not have to wait long at any of the stops.
Some of the attractions covered by the Athens hop-on, hop-off tour are the Acropolis Museum, Temple of Zeus, the National Library, the National Archaeological Museum and National Gardens, among other tourist hotspots.
Some of the attractions covered by the Piraeus line are Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, the Planetarium, Acropolis and Parthenon, the Munical Theatre and the Votsalakia Beach.
Some of the attractions covered by the Beach line are the Planetarium, Asteria Glyfada Beach, Ag. Kosmas Beach, the Temple of Zeus and the Oceanis Beach.

The two City Sightseeing walking tours go past world famous archaeological sites and provide plenty of photo opportunities. Both the walking tours are approximately an hour long.
Walking tour 1:
On this walking tour, visit the prison of Socrates, the Hill of the Muses, the Pnyx, the first Parliament and the cave of Pan, the God of Spring.
Walking tour 2:
On this walking tour, visit the Hill of Mars or the Ancient court of Athens, around the Ancient Agora, down through the Plaka and around the Roman Agora, which includes the famous Tower of the Winds, of 50BC, originally constructed as a time piece and features a combination of sundials, a water clock and a wind vane.
The first photo tour begins at 12:30pm from Melina Merkouri, Plaka stop and the second tour (April to October) at 1.15pm from National Gardens in the Athens route and takes you to Arch of Hadrian with a view of the Acropolis and Parthenon through the arch, past the Temple of Zeus and on to the majestic Zappeion, the athletes quarters of the First Modern Olympics of 1896.
Voucher information: You must print and surrender a paper version of your booking voucher for this activity (showing your voucher on a smartphone is not accepted). No refund can be given for customers without a printed copy of their voucher.
Your booking voucher can be exchanged for your Hop-On-Hop-Off ticket at any one of stops. Simply choose the stop which you wish to start from and present your voucher to the driver who will exchange it for a ticket that will be valid for 24 hours from that time.
The duration and frequency of the tour may vary due to traffic conditions.
Cruise passenger info: Travel on the City Sightseeing tour bus from the Piraeus cruise terminal to the Acropolis & Parthenon (on the Piraeus Line for about 40 mins) and there you can show your ticket to join the Athens historical centre tour (Athens Line). Both lines will service the Acropolis & Parthenon and intersect at Stop A4 (Interchange Acropolis). City Sightseeing hostesses are at the Acropolis stop to advise. The Riviera and Beaches line is accessible from the Piraeus line at stops 1 and 2.
The Athens and Piraeus route are 80 minutes long and the Beach route is 90 minutes long.
Athens and Piraeus tour runs all year round. The Beach Riviera tour operates only in the summer season.
The Riviera and Beaches line is accessible from the Piraeus line at stops 1 and 2.
The buses are wheelchair accessible.
Your voucher will be valid for 3 months from the date chosen at the time of booking.
The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have.
