Itinerary

  • For your Imouzzer Sightseeing Tour from Agadir you will be picked up from your hotel. You will set out for Imouzzer in an air-conditioned vehicle with your guide. The excursion takes around 5 hours and you will cover a distance of approximately 175 km (105 miles). You will follow the coastal road out of Agadir, through the village of Aourir. At around 08:00am you stop for around 20 minutes at the oasis of Tamzargout, where you can take photos and enjoy a short walk. Boarding your vehicle, you will go on a little further and stop for a panoramic view of the Paradise Valley with its waterfalls and banana plantations. The valley was given this name by legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix in the 1960s, when the area was part of the hippy trail! Just after 9:00am you arrive in Imouzzer, a beautiful Berber village in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Located at a height of 1350 meters (4500 feet), Imouzzer is framed by palm trees, limestone gorges, bubbling fresh-water ravines and verdant tree-clad hills. You will also see the rich groves of olive and banana trees on which the community depends upon. With your guide, you will take a walk to Imouzzer's famous waterfalls and the rock pools below them. See if you can spot the 'Peace/ Love' sign said to have been carved in the rock by Hendrix himself. A highlight of your visit will be the traditional weekly market, held at Imouzzer every Thursday. This is your chance to buy traditional Berber handicrafts in an authentic rural setting. Around 11:15am you will set off back towards Agadir, with another short stop at Paradise Valley for more photos. You arrive in Agadir at around 12:30pm and will be dropped off back at your hotel.
