Enjoy a donkey ride to the Kasbah of Tiout, located at the foot of the Anti Atlas Mountain. Swaying palm groves add to the stunning beauty of the Tiout oasis.
Enjoy a typical Moroccan lunch and devote the afternoon to the discovery of Taroudant, the ancient capital of the Saadian Dynasty. In addition to its Kasbah and the old palace of the Pasha, admire the charm of the souks and the remarkable craftsmen who work with leather, copper and especially silver. The red-walled city of Taroudant, with its ancient medina (old city) and traditional eastern customs is an ideal way to experience Moroccan culture first hand.
8:00am: You will be picked up from your centrally located hotel in Agadir for this tour. In case your hotel is not a pick-up location, you will be advised of the closest pick-up point.
Set out in an air-conditioned bus with your guide for a sightseeing tour of Tiout and Taroudant.
The breakdown of your itinerary is as follows:
8:20am: Departure for Tiout (via Tikiouine).
9:15am: There will be a photo stop to capture the swaying beauty of argan trees and maybe a herd of goats grazing nearby.
10:05am: Stop at a local village, interact with the locals and sip on some delicious mint tea.
10:40am: Proceed towards the charming palm grove of Tiout. Feel like a local as you take a leisurely donkey ride. On a hillside overlooking Berber villages, this tranquil oasis has been drawing visitors for many years and is renowned for the silver created here.
12:15pm: Stop for lunch at Tioiut at Chez Hamid restaurant. Your menu consist of tagine with chicken, couscous with meat and vegetables and a platter of fruits of the season. Drinks are not included.
2:00pm: After lunch, depart for the walled town of Taroudant.
2:35pm: Explore the ancient red walled city which lies close to the Sahara Desert. You will have the option of climbing the ramparts for wonderful views of the city and the surrounding countryside. Take in the panoramic view and keep your camera handy as there will be plenty of photo opportunities.
3:00pm: Enjoy about half an hour’s free time to explore the medina and souks in Taroudant.
4:00pm: Savor mint tea or soda at the Jnane Soussia restaurant.
4:35pm: Depart for Agadir (via Ameskroud).
5:30pm: Your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel or the closest drop-off point in Agadir.
