Overview

Enjoy a fantastic trip – jam-packed with canoeing, rappelling and swimming – and visit the archeological zone of Coba, home to the astounding Nohoch Muul pyramid, the tallest in Mexico. You’ll also get the chance to see the preserved natural beauty, lagoons, cenotes and jungle whilst learning about the Mayan heritage and environment.

An expert guide will show you around Coba, the tremendous Mayan site that was at its peak between the 6th and 10th centuries. Marvel at the ancient temples and the legendary ball game area. From the top of the tallest pyramids you’ll be able to see staggering views of the Mexican jungle.

Understand Mayan culture and Mexico’s rich heritage with the Mayan Encounter part of the tour. Activities include a bike ride through the Mayan village, gliding on zip lines over the most sensational views in the Caribbean, canoeing in freshwater lagoons and walking through lush jungle. Enjoy the out-of-this world experience of rappelling into and swimming in a cenote (a natural pit exposing turquoise ground water underneath).

To keep your energy up during this fun-filled trip you’ll be given a delectable Mayan feast including chicken, potatoes, vegetable soup, rice, pasta beans and homemade tortillas.

Itinerary

For your Coba Mayan Site and Activities From Cancun experience, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Cancun in a comfortable minivan and taken to the either Coba or the Maya Village to start your adventure.

You will explore the ancient site Coba for 2 hours, one of the oldest Mayan areas in Mexico. Your expert guide will provide you with interesting facts. Perhaps the best part of this tour is the trail to the Nohoch Muul (the tallest pyramid in the Yucatan Peninsula) from which you can see the most incredible views of the jungle that encumbers the area.

The Maya Encounter section of the trip provides you with a host of great activities. You’ll experience the feeling of flying whilst being harnessed to a zip line through the stunning rainforest. You’ll also see the astounding cenotes, natural deep pools, and will be able to rappel and swim in the crystal clear waters. Setting off in a canoe, you’ll also be able to paddle your way down a peaceful lagoon and see the stunning Mexican wildlife, including beautiful birds and cute spider monkeys.

In between all of this activity, you’ll be able to stop off for a scrumptious authentic Mayan lunch buffet with seasoned chicken, empanadas, pasta, beans, vegetable soups, rice, potatoes and handmade tortillas – sure enough to get those taste buds tingling! Soft drinks are also included.
