This tour has two options: the West Rim Grand Canyon Motor Coach Tour and the West Rim Grand Canyon Motor Coach Tour with Skywalk.
West Rim Grand Canyon Motor Coach Tour:
You will be picked up from your hotel in Las Vegas and driven in a deluxe air-conditioned motor coach to the magnificent Grand Canyon.
To reach the West Rim, you will have to travel off the main interstate highway onto a county road which has extremely rough conditions for about 17 miles.
Sit back and listen to an informative English narration by your driver as you travel through the Las Vegas Valley to the Hualapai Indian Reservation.
Cross the monumental Hoover Dam the world's biggest dam when it was built in the 1930s. Even today, it's an engineering marvel a huge wall of curving concrete, 660 feet at the base and 726 feet high set between vertical rock walls. There will be a brief photo stop here.
Drive through the 900-year-old Joshua Tree Forest, which surrounds much of this high desert country. The Joshua Tree (or yucca) is a slow grower, but is perfectly adapted to desert life and lives for hundreds of years.
Look out for wild horses, burros and rabbits as you travel to the Grand Canyon West Rim. This untamed area is one of the best places to view the stunning Grand Canyon. Here, in the Native American Hualapai Reservation, man has had little impact on the Canyon's natural beauty. No crowds, no guard-rails and tremendous views as far as you can see.
Upon your arrival at the West Rim, you’ll have three hours to explore the amazing sights at your own will. Have your camera ready for some great picture taking opportunities as you take a leisure walk along the rim and see how Mother Nature carved an image of the Great Thunderbird into the cliff of the Canyon before you enjoy your buffet lunch at the Canyon’s edge.
At the end of your trip you will be dropped off at your hotel.
West Rim Grand Canyon Motor Coach Tour with Skywalk:
This option is the same as the above but includes a chance to go on the thrilling Skywalk.
Skywalk is a cleverly constructed plexiglass walkway that extends out into space from the Canyon edge. With nothing but glass under your feet, it's like walking on 'air' 4,000 feet above the Canyon floor and the Colorado River. It is an extraordinary sensation with 360 degree, fantastic views. To avoid long wait times it is recommended that you activate your Skywalk Ticket when arriving at the West Rim so that you can maximize your free time to explore all that the West Rim has to offer.
After your Skywalk, you can enjoy your buffet lunch before boarding your coach to return to Las Vegas.
