For your incredible Grand Canyon Hummer Adventure Tour you will be picked up from your hotel by your driver/guide in a specially equipped ‘Hummer’, Deep Desert Exploration Vehicle.
The amazing Hummer is one of the safest off-road vehicles ever made. Your adventure Tour will carry you on a memorable journey deep into the desert to locations other vehicles would never be able to reach.
You will ride along the top of the awesome Hoover Dam and cross the mighty Colorado River and enter a different state, different time zone, and a different world, and all before lunch! But this is just the beginning of your big adventure.
The Hummer will take you over a mountain range and into some of the most remote areas of the Coconono Plateau. After passing landmarks like White Cliffs and Thunderbird/Phoenix Point and travelling through vast forests of bizarre Joshua Trees, you will reach the realm of the Hualapai Native Americans, who make the western part of the Grand Canyon their home.
You will have plenty of time to explore the Grand Canyon’s West Rim. This wilderness area outside the main National Park is one of the best places to view the stunning Canyon. Here, in the Hualapai Reservation, man has had little impact on the natural beauty. No crowds, no guardrails and stupendous views as far as you can see. Make sure you check out the fantastic views at Guano Point.
Take in the vast scale of this gargantuan gorge, sculpted by massive natural forces over millennia. Marvel at the beautiful colors – the red-ochre and ash-white of the sandstone and limestone rocks, the orange, green and gray of the lichens and the indigo and violet of the deep shadows.
Lunch is served by your Native American hosts in a sheltered, open space on the edge of the West Rim of the Grand Canyon; some 3,500 feet above the Colorado River. You will enjoy a buffet-style meal of barbeque beef brisket, grilled chicken, barbeque beans, corn on the cob, dessert, and juice water or coffee. (The vegetarian option is corn on the cob, dessert, and juice coffee or water.)
Then you will board your Hummer for the return journey and more incredible desert scenery. Your off-road journey takes around seven hours and the on-road part of your tour takes about 2 hours.
At the end of the day you will be dropped off back at your Las Vegas Hotel.
