Granada is a mix of several cultures; Eurasian, Iberians, Phoenician, Roman, Arab and Christian influences intermix and are evident everywhere. The tour will showcase some of the famous landmarks and monuments of Granada.
Alhambra: Granada's best-known attraction is the Alhambra Palace, also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Alhambra Palace, locally referred to just the Alhambra, overlooks the city of Granada. It stands out as the most famous example of Moorish architecture, and perhaps it is the most known Muslim construction. The Alhambra consists of three parts: The Royal Palace, the Gardens of Generalife and the fortress of Alcazaba.
Gardens of Generalife: They are considered among the most beautiful gardens in the world and are a well established UNESCO World Heritage Site. These gardens (the word "Generalife" means "garden of paradise", "orchard" or "garden of feasts") bordering on the Alhambra, were created in early 14th century and have conserved their original shape. Once the summer residence for the king, they are filled with water springs, gardens and architecture of indescribable beauty.
Alcazaba: The Alcazaba is an impressive military fortress, dating back to the 9th century. It is the oldest part of the Alhambra and is reconstructed upon the ruins of a castle.
After the visit to the Alhambra there will be free time for afternoon tea (at own expense).
