Overview

If you’re looking to add some excitement to your South African excursion, take this Great White Shark Cage Diving tour for a spine-tingling encounter with the predatory mammal. Take a boat ride to Dyer Island which promises an encounter with a school of Great White Sharks in the depths of the ocean. The close proximity of the giant predator as it inspects your cage will send a surge of adrenalin through your body.

If you rather prefer not dive, then gaze at the sharks from above as these mighty creatures break the surface of the water. In addition, you will also see Jackass Penguins, Oystercatchers and seals.

Itinerary

Early in the morning, you will be picked up in an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in central Cape Town and taken to Gansbaai that lies in Walker Bay at the foot of the Dynefontein Mountains.Southern Right Whales and Great White Sharks frequent the Atlantic waters of the Danger Point Peninsula and are a major drawcard for the town.

On arrival in Gansbaai, enjoy a light breakfast. Before you depart, you will receive a short course on safety and the use of the equipment and proceed on a short boat ride from Gansbaai, Shark Alley is ideal for those who wish to experience the thrill of getting up close and personal with these giant predators, but who do not possess a dive certification. Your cage dive takes place just meters below the surface of the water, so no diving experience is necessary.

Between the islands of Geyser Rock and Dyer Island is a narrow and shallow channel called Shark Alley – reputed to be the world’s best place for Great White shark cage diving. Due to the resident seal colonies in the area, Shark Alley has been dubbed “the supermarket for sharks”.

The activity is absolutely safe. A master diver will assist you into the opening at the top of the cage, which will be lowered in the water. It is a great chance to come face-to-face with this magnificent predator in its natural feeding ground. After the activity, return for a light lunch
