Auschwitz Birkenau was one of the largest of the Nazi concentration camps. It was established as the ‘final solution’ in the policy of annihilating the Jewish people of Europe. It is estimated that during the five years of its existence, around 1.5 million people of various backgrounds died at Auschwitz.
On this small group tour (maximum 19 people), you will have an intimate experience of the site and are able to interact with your expert guide.
A visit to Auschwitz is a sombre experience, yet understanding the atrocities that occurred here is an important means of ensuring such events never happen again.
In 1979 Auschwitz was added to the list of UNESCO world heritage sites and designated a memorial and museum. On this Auschwitz tour you will visit both the base camp Auschwitz I and the extermination camp Auschwitz II (Birkenau).
On the journey from Krakow you will be shown a moving documentary on life in the camp.
Note: This tour has good availability with just a few sold out dates in the month of September. Should this tour not be available on your chosen date, we recommend an alternative Auschwitz-Birkenau tour click here for more details>>
