  • Overview & Itinerary

If you want to do something different during your stay in Cyprus, then this donkey riding tour is for you.

A donkey ride gives you a real taste of the area, as you ride through picturesque orange groves and quaint villages.

Stop by the 13th century Sindi Monastery, recognized as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Admire the beautiful church within its medieval walls.

At the Donkey Farm in Kelokedara village, enjoy true Cypriot hospitality as you sample the local firewater, Zivania. Enjoy the dancing and music with the friendly, lively staff.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Paphos in an air-conditioned coach and taken for a donkey riding experience in Cyprus. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.

Spend a day discovering traditional Cypriot culture. Your first stop will be at , where you will change transport to an old Bedford village bus, still in action today.

Travelling on this quaint village bus through picturesque orange groves, make your way to the Donkey farm where shelter and food is provided for the friendly donkeys.

Upon arrival you will have the chance to sample the local firewater Zivania, and try some local delicacies such as halloumi, olives, sushukko (an unusual tubular shaped concoction made of grape syrup and almonds), and local oven bread.

After your hearty meal, climb onto your donkey and set out on a leisurely 35-minute donkey ride.

Ride through the serene countryside before arriving at an abandoned 14th century monastery, Panayia tou Sindi, which has been restored by UNESCO. The courtyard is lined on three sides by stone buildings that used to house the refectory, kitchen, storage rooms and monastic cells. Here you will try some seasonal fruits and enjoy the unique tranquillity of this spot.

The ever-patient donkeys will then take you back to the farm, where a typical BBQ meal at Argonaftis Farm Restaurant accompanied by homemade specialities will be waiting for you with wine, zivania and juice for the children.

After the meal, you can participate in the not-to-be-missed syrtaki ritual. Enjoy the dancing and music with the friendly, lively staff of the Donkey Farm.

Before leaving the donkey farm you will be presented with a diploma to certify you have completed all “the tasks”.

At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel in Paphos.
