Overview

The Akamas Jeep Safari is a day of adventure you'll never forget. Take in the magical surroundings of the Akamas Peninsula with its lush foliage and unique fauna and flora. The wild and rugged Peninsula can really only be explored by 4WD.

Discover the dramatic Avgas Gorge with its limestone walls. This is a haven for wildlife, especially in the spring, with over 160 different species of birds, animals and plants.

Visit Lara Bay, home to the breeding station for the protected Greenback Turtles. On the way back, pass through Latchi to visit the Baths of Aphrodite, where legend has it that the waters have magical rejuvenating properties.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Paphos in a 4WD and taken for an exciting Jeep Safari to the Akamas Peninsula. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.

Begin your safari with a first stop at Avgas Gorge, which is well known for its 30 metre high limestone walls. Rich vegetation and fresh springs create an enchanting atmosphere. Here you will experience mini trek and would have coffee at own expense.

Stop at Lara Bay, widely known as the breeding ground of the Greenback Turtle. You will visit Turtle Conservation Project. Drive and stop at Akamas view point for taking photos. Drive to the restaurant for lunch. The highlight of the tour is a visit to the legendary Baths of Aphrodite. According to Greek legend, the goddess Aphrodite used to bathe with her lover Adonis in this romantic spot and the waters are rumoured to have rejuvenating qualities. 

Last stop will be in a local village and you will have the opportunity to visit a typical traditional Cypriot coffee shop! Also, you will enjoy delicious lunch with glass of wine or soft drink.

At the end of the tour you will be transported back to your hotel in Paphos.
