At the bottom of the steps across the street from the Entrance of the Vatican Museums.
The steps are located right next to Caffè Vaticano on the corner of Viale Vaticano and Via Tunisi.
The closest Metro stop is Line A (Ottaviano – Musei Vaticani).
Arriving from Ottaviano - Musei Vaticani Metro A Station:
Exit the turnstiles – walk straight to the back end of the station and go to the left side exit. Once you’ve reached the left side exit – exit at V.le Giulio Cesare (to your right). Exit Station and walk down V.le G. Cesare to street light, cross the street and take left on Via Leone IV. Take right on Via Sebastiano Veniero and go 1½ blocks.
The meeting point is situated at the BOTTOM of the wide staircase.
Arriving from St. Peter's Square:
As you face St. Peter's Basilica turn right, exit the piazza and follow the Vatican walls around toward the entrance to the Vatican Museums.
The walls should be on your left side. Follow the walls up Viale Vaticano until you reach the entrance of the Vatican Museums. Across the street you will see Via Tunisi and Cafe' Vaticano.
The groups meet at the BOTTOM of this staircase.
Arriving by Taxi:
Please notify driver to arrive at the “Ingresso dei Musei Vaticani on Viale Vaticano” Our meeting point is across the street from the museum entrance located at the BOTTOM of the wide staircase next to Café Vaticano.
The tour ends near the Basilica of St. Peter’s in the Vatican.
Please call the activity operator at least 24 hours prior to start of the tour to confirm all departure details.
A special dress code is required to enter the Vatican Museums and Saint Peter’s Basilica. Knees and shoulders must be covered for both men and women. This dress code is strictly enforced and you will be refused entry if you fail to comply with dress code requirements.
Please arrive at the designated meeting point 15 minutes prior to the scheduled tour time and present your tour voucher to the tour coordinator/guide.
You can easily recognize the tour coordinator/guide, wearing Dark Rome/ Guideman branded blue jacket/ Polo shirts.
Proof of age required on the day of the tour for those paying child rates.
If you are interested in booking the tour on a Wednesday there is a possibility of St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Peter’s Square not being a part of your itinerary. This is due to the weekly Papal Audience during which access to St. Peter’s Basilica may be blocked. As an alternative, you are offered an extended itinerary within the Vatican Museums, which still includes the Sistine Chapel and Raphael’s Rooms.
Unfortunately this tour is not suitable for those with mobility problems.
