Overview

Sample some fine French wines, and visit some of the popular places painted by Van Gogh. Don’t miss out this opportunity to visit Arles, known as the city of festivals, art and culture. Stroll around this quaint city and see the sites that were once captured on the canvas by legendary painter Vincent Van Gogh.

 Also, you get to enjoy Carrières de Lumière show; a multimedia exhibition of famous paintings. You will also get to taste the wines in the region of Gigondas.

Itinerary

In the morning, make your way to the designated meeting point. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will be shown the highlights of Provence.

You will also visit Gigondas, which is located towards east of Chateauneuf du Pape. Visit the winery founded in Châteauneuf-du-Pape 100 years ago.

Continue to Antiques of Saint Remy de Provence. It is a pretty village, and the old Gallo-Roman interior is circled by the remnants of a circular 14th century wall. St. Remy is located on the plains at the northern edge of the Alpilles, about 20 kilometres south of Avignon, this is where Van Gogh painted ‘Starry Night’. Visit Les Baux de Provence, a beautiful village set upon a rock at a height of 245 metres. Tour around its historical centre and visit the museum of santons, Hôtel des Porcelets, beautiful 16th century houses, St Vincent Church and other attractions. You will also Gigondas, which is located towards east of Chateauneuf du Pape.

Take a walking tour in Arles, the largest city in France on the banks of the Rhone river, surrounded by the arid plains of Crau. See the famous Roman amphitheatre, the Romanesque Cathedral and the places painted by Van Gogh: La maison jaune, Le café la nuit, Le jardin de l’hôtel Dieu.

Enjoy the audiovisual show (ticket included) in the Carrières de Lumière (Quarry of Light); a multimedia exhibition of famous paintings are displayed on the walls of the quarry accompanied by music. Bosch, Brueghel, Archimboldo will be the theme of the new season. More time will be allowed in the village of Les Baux during this period.

After sightseeing in Provence, your tour ends at the starting point.
