Now you can find out as you journey around the region that inspired him so. A must for art lovers – you will take a trip through Provence accompanied by an expert guide and see the picturesque towns through the eyes of Van Gogh.

In Arles, known as the city of festivals, art and culture, you will stroll past many places that were captured on the canvas of this master.
Explore the sightseeing attractions of Alpilles and take a trip to the scenic village of Saint Remy. See the remnants of its circular 14th-century wall, this is known worldwide as where Van Gogh painted ‘Starry Night’. Also, you will enjoy the Carrières de Lumière show; a multimedia exhibition of famous paintings.

Itinerary

Make your way to designated meeting point. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will be taken to the village of St. Remy.

It is a pretty village, and the old Gallo-Roman interior is circled by the remnants of a circular 14th century wall. St. Remy is located on the plains at the northern edge of the Alpilles, about 20 kilometres south of Avignon, this is where Van Gogh painted ‘Starry Night’. Visit Baux de Provence, a beautiful village set upon a rock at a height of 245 metres. Tour around its historical centre and visit the museum of santons, Hôtel des Porcelets, beautiful 16th century houses, St Vincent Church and other attractions.

Enjoy the audiovisual show (ticket included) in the Carrières de Lumière (Quarry of Light); a multimedia exhibition of famous paintings are displayed on the walls of the quarry accompanied by music. Bosch, Brueghel, Archimboldo will be the theme of the new season. More time will be allowed in the village of Les Baux during this period.

Take a walking tour in Arles, the largest city in France on the banks of the Rhone river, surrounded by the arid plains of Crau. See the famous Roman amphitheatre, the Romanesque Cathedral and the places painted by Van Gogh: La maison jaune, Le café la nuit, Le jardin de l’hôtel Dieu. After sightseeing in Arles, you have free time for lunch (cost not included).

They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have.You will have leisure time from April to October for about an hour to enjoy a weekly traditional provençal market and this will extend your tour by 1 hour.
