  • Soak up the sights and sounds of the North at the Keryneia Castle
  • Enjoy spectacular views from the Pentadaktylos Mountain ranges
  • Visit the 800-year old Abbey of Bellapais

For over 33 years it was impossible to cross over the border into Northern Cyprus. This tour now offers you exactly that opportunity on this exclusive excursion into the Untouched North.

Drive through the famous 16th century Venetian Walls of Nicosia before crossing the 'Green Line' into Northern Nicosia, and notice the immediate difference. The North is older and more traditional than the modern capital city in the South.

High in the Pentadaktylos Mountain ranges are the ruins of the once magnificent 800-year old Abbey of Bellapais. Get spectacular views down to Keryneia on the coast and across the northern plains.

Enjoy free time in the picturesque and historic port of Keryneia and tour its medieval fortress, Keryneia Castle. Absorb the sights and sounds as you wander round the harbor area.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Paphos in an air-conditioned coach and taken for a sightseeing tour to the Untouched North in Cyprus. An English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.

Drive towards the capital city of Nicosia.

Continue driving along the winding route up and over the Pentadaktylos Mountains with some spectacular views.

Visit the famous Gothic Abbey of Bellapais, in the heart of a beautiful mountain village. Look for intricate stone carvings, delicate murals and a well-preserved 13th century church in this 800-year of abbey.

Cross the border to the historic port of Keryneia, under Turkish occupation since 1974.

Stop at a local restaurant for a delicious local lunch and enjoy a glass of Cyprus wine with your meal.

Visit the Keryneia Castle. The medieval castle is believed to have been constructed to guard the town against the Arab raids in the 7th century. Inside the castle is a shipwreck museum, which contains the original cargo and equipment from the ancient ship of Kerynia.

Enjoy some free time at the picturesque Keryneia Harbor.

At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel in Paphos.
