The Yarra Valley is internationally recognised as one of Australia's leading wine producing regions, famous for its cool climate masterpieces. Your first stop is at Yering Station. Here you will learn how to swirl, sniff, slurp and then taste in this historic cellar door, home of the Yarra Valley’s first vineyard and adjacent to its award-winning, architecturally designed winery and restaurant with sculpture garden.
The next stop, around 12 noon, is at Balgownie Estate. Here you can indulge in a guided tasting session at Balgownie Estate tasting table. Make your selection of wine for lunch and take your complimentary glass of wine to the restaurant with its magnificent vineyard views. Lunch includes a main course, a glass of Rochford wine and tea or coffee.
After lunch you will travel to Yering Farm, one of the Yarra Valley’s boutique wineries. It has stunning views and is oozing with rustic charm. Try wines made with traditional methods in their cellar door, which showcases antique copper wine making tools used by pioneer wine makers.
End the day with a visit to Domaine Chandon, the Australian production house of the French Champagne company Moet & Chandon. Domaine Chandon is dedicated to the production of méthode traditionnelle sparkling wine and premium quality, cool-climate still wines.
