There is no hotel pick-up for your San Francisco Bay Sunset Cruise. The tour starts at Pier 43 1/2, Fisherman's Wharf, where you will board your boat.
Leaving the Wharf, you will sail west towards the sunset and the spectacular Golden Gate Bridge. As you cruise along, your Captain will provide an informative live commentary in English.
Your cruise also includes live guitar music to enhance the romantic atmosphere of the Californian twilight. And, as you watch the sun go down, you can enjoy a complimentary drink and some delicious snacks including sandwiches, salads, fruit, and dessert.
You will pass the bleak island of Alcatraz, once a federal penitentiary. Notorious inmates included Al Capone and Robert Franklin Stroud, the ‘Birdman of Alcatraz’.
Further on, you will see Angel Island, the largest island in San Francisco Bay. In 2008, a third of it was scorched by a huge wildfire.
Your cruise continues along the Tiburon peninsula, which has the town of Belvedere at its tip. It continues past Sausalito, a place that was notorious as a center for bootlegging during the Prohibition era.
You will then pass under the famous Golden Gate Bridge and can admire this magnificent feat of engineering. The beautiful bridge has a massive span and crosses the ‘Golden Gate’, the opening of San Francisco Bay onto the Pacific Ocean.
As dusk falls over the Bay, you will sail back to Fisherman's Wharf, where the captain will drop you off at the starting point.
