This San Francisco photography tour begins from Bush and Grant Streets, at the northeast corner. Your English-speaking expert photographer-cum-guide will meet you here.
San Francisco is a photographer’s delight and has plenty of visually exciting neighborhoods.
On this photography tour, you will visit the oldest Chinatown in the Americas, enjoy views of Alcatraz Prison, see bridges, cable cars and hills, see Victorian cottages on wooded stairways, and always, be right in the middle of a lively street scene.
The tour will also take you to:
• North Beach: This is a primarily Italian neighborhood in the northeast of San Francisco adjacent to Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf.
• Telegraph Hill: This residential quarter is well-known for its gardens flowing down Filbert Street down to Levi's Plaza. Its main feature is Coit Tower, which stands atop the hill.
• Coit Tower: The 210-feet tall art deco Coit Tower at the top of Telegraph Hill was designed to resemble a fire hose nozzle and offers impressive views of the city since its completion in 1933.
• Embarcadero: Spanning five blocks in the heart of San Francisco's prime commercial district, Embarcadero Center is one of the largest mixed-use complexes in the Western United States.
You will also learn how to approach people and capture the spontaneous emotions, expressions and interactions among people that tell the story of San Francisco and the people who celebrate it with you.
There are photo opportunities on every corner and each location that you will visit and each offers its own unique photographic challenges.
At the end of the session your photographer-guide will review some of the photos taken (if you are carrying a digital camera). You will have learnt the basics of composition, the importance of light in photography, how to take balanced and attractive images, and simple techniques to take creative images.
This memorable tour ends at Union Square.
