You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach from the bus parking near Zurich Main Train Station (Stop: Sihlquai, Streetcar: 4, 13). Accompanied by a multi-lingual guide speaking English, Spanish and German, you will journey through Central Switzerland and along the Lake of the Four Cantons to the city of Lucerne. It is the capital of the Canton of Lucerne and an important tourist destination due to its location on the shore of Lake Lucerne within sight of Mount Pilatus and Rigi.
Visit the sun terrace above Lake Lucerne with unique views over the snow-capped Alps and 13 lakes. Further on, proceed to Weggis, an enchanting lake and mountain resort along Lake Lucerne. From Weggis, board a cogwheel train to the top of Mount Rigi (1800 metres). It is regarded as the oldest cogwheel rail carriage in the world. You will be served hot orange punch in the train.
After reaching the top, stroll around and enjoy the magnificent scenery of mountain peaks including Mount Titlis and the giants of the Jungfrau region. You could even rent a sledge to explore around. Further on, descent to Vitznau, a small village and base station for Europe’s oldest rack railway. From Vitznau, take a 55-minute steamer ride to Lucerne. You will have time at leisure in the old town of Lucerne.
From Lucerne, return by coach to Zurich. The tour ends in the Zurich bus station.
