There is no hotel pick-up for your Lausanne, Montreux and Chillon Day Trip. You board your comfortable air-conditioned coach at Geneva Bus Station (Place Dorcière).
Accompanied by your English and French speaking guide, you will drive from Geneva to Lausanne. Built on steep hills above a sparkling lake, backed by white-capped Alps, Lausanne is the most beautiful of cities. Stroll through parks full of colourful flowers or along the tree-lined lakefront promenades.
Or visit the Olympic Museum (Lausanne hosts the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee). This state-of-the-art museum tells the Olympic story in an inspiring way and has a fascinating collection of objects.
In the afternoon, you will drive through the canton of Vaud and along the lake, past the towns of Vevey and Montreux, to the famous 13th century Castle of Chillon.
Enjoy a guided tour of this magnificent castle in its fairytale setting on an islet in Lake Geneva. Its beauty conceals a grim past. Lord Bryon’s poem, “The Prisoner of Chillon” describes a real person confined to the castle dungeons.
Leaving the castle, board a steamer for a trip down the lake and enjoy glorious panoramic views.
Then finish a perfect day by strolling through Montreux. Nestling in a sheltered Lake Geneva bay, this town is known as the Swiss Riviera because of its mild climate. Montreaux is also famous for its summer Jazz Festival.
On returning to Geneva you will be dropped off at Geneva Bus Station (Place Dorcière).
