This tour is available in two options: coach and private. The private option offers you greater convenience and flexibility of time.
You will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco and taken in an air-conditioned vehicle for a sightseeing tour to the Pisac Market and the Ollantaytambo fortress. A bilingual guide will accompany you on this tour. Pisac is just 30 kilometres outside Cusco and the drive takes approximately half an hour.
Leave Cusco behind and enjoy a scenic drive through a stunning landscape to the Urubamba valley, the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Arrive at the town of Pisac, set high on the mountainside with a superb Inca fortress and lookout post. Pisac is renowned for its colourful market where the local Indians meet to sell their merchandise as they have done for centuries. The handicraft market takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays and is famous for its ceramic beads made into necklaces, earrings and other Peruvian artefacts.
From here the tour carries on to the town of Ollantaytambo, the site of one of the great Inca fortresses and sacred areas along the Urubamba Valley. The town is one of the oldest continuously occupied settlements in the Americas. It was here that Manco Inca defeated the Spanish in 1538 before fleeing to the mountains of Vilcabamba.
The sixteen massive terraces spread before you are a testimony to the magnificent Inca masonry. Climb the steep stone steps up to the imposing fortress at the top of the mountain -around 260 steps! From here the view down the valley is superb and you can admire the huge monoliths that form the Temple of the Sun.
There will be a stop for lunch.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Cusco.
