The fun begins when you board a ferry for a short cruise on the sparkling waters of the Hauraki Gulf. On arrival at Waiheke, a comfortable vehicle will take you on a discovery tour of the Island.
Travel past farmland, forest, beaches and olive groves to visit three of Waiheke Island's top vineyards – Mudbrick, The Goldie Room and Te Whau.
Enjoy wine tasting sessions at each vineyard and breathtaking views. At The Goldie Room you will also be treated to a vineyard tour and delicious snacks.
At the end of the day you can catch the late afternoon ferry back to Auckland or take advantage of your free bonus bus pass to stay on and explore more of the beautiful Island.
For your delightful Waiheke Island Vineyard Tour you will be picked up from your accommodation for your transfer to the Sky City Coach Terminal, 102 Hobson Street, Auckland, the departure point of your tour
See first hand why Auckland is known as the City of Sails as you travel over the Harbour Bridge and back, then along the scenic waterfront route of Tamaki Drive to Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park in Mission Bay. This park has panoramic views over Auckland City and Waitemata Harbour. The tour also takes in the Auckland Domain, the city's oldest park situated on a 62,000 year old volcano and the trendy shopping area of Parnell Village.
At 1300h (1.00pm) board your Fullers Group vessel at Pier 2, Auckland Ferry Terminal, 99 Quay Street, Auckland to commence your Wine tour, the ferry journey to Waiheke Island takes about 40 minutes. On arrival at Matiatia wharf on the Island you will be greeted by your tour bus driver who will transport you to the picturesque Mudbrick vineyard overlooking the sparkling waters of the Hauraki Gulf where you will enjoy premium wine tastings.
Next, you will travel to The Goldie Room,Waiheke's first and most well-established vineyard. Here, the experience extends to a tour of the vineyard as well as tastings and a mouth-watering plate of nibbles.
Last stop, with further tastings of 5-star quality wines, is Te Whau vineyard, acclaimed for its restaurant as well as stunning views and outstanding architecture. Your 4-hour tour of the island concludes at the Matiatia wharf where you can catch the 1700h (5:00pm) ferry back to Auckland.
Alternatively, you may choose to extend your stay and take advantage of the complimentary all day bus pass. This will allow you to discover the island further on Fullers Waiheke Island scheduled bus services and return at your leisure. For example you could spend longer browsing the delightful shops and art galleries on the Island.
The tour ends back at Pier 2, Ferry Terminal, 99 Quay Street, Auckland.
