Explore the charming ‘white’ city of Tetouan, affectionately called ‘the daughter of Granada’ by the locals, on this private excursion from Tangier. Dominated by Hispanic-influenced architecture, the city was built by Muslim refugees from Spain in the 15th century.

Rising from the Mediterranean Sea between majestic mountains on either side, Tetouan is also a famous craftsmanship centre that seduces visitors by its meanderings, valleys, serenity and its special ambience.

Shop at the Souk Hout and the Guersa El Kebira square with its many fabric shops. Lively bargaining is the order of the day!

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Medina is one of the most fascinating and absorbing in the whole of Morocco, with its shaded alleyways and mosques.

Itinerary

0800h (08:00am): You will be picked up from your centrally located hotel or closest pick-up point in Tangier and taken in an air-conditioned minibus for a private sightseeing tour of Tetouan . A bilingual guide (English and French-speaking) will accompany you on this tour.

0930h (09:30am): Begin your private city tour of Tetouan.

0950h (09:50am): Visit the Guersa Kebira square, one of the many bustling souks, which specializes in fabrics.

1010h (10:10am): Stop at the Medina, one of the most fascinating in the country and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a unique network of shaded alleyways and has several mosques. Stop at the bustling and lively souks and bargain for a variety of handicrafts, clothes and jewelry.

1035h (10:35am): Enjoy visiting a jewellery market. Tetouan is well-known for its exquisite gold jewellery.

1100h (11:00am): Refreshment stop (payable direct).

1130h (11:30am): See from the outside the Souk Hout, famous for beautiful ceramic work and gold jewellery. See also the superb Royal Palace, a fine example of Hispano-Mauresque architecture.

1200h (1200noon): Departure from Tetouan.

1330h (1:30): Your tour ends with a drop-off at your hotel or the closest drop-off point in Tangier.
