You will be picked-up from your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle for this interesting half day tour designed for the nature lovers including a visit to the world's largest Butterfly Farm and the Botanic Gardens.
The Butterfly Farm is located right at the end of Batu Ferringhi and is in Teluk Bahang, about 17km from Georgetown. It houses an average flying population of about 4000 strikingly beautiful Malaysian butterflies of 120 different species. Visitors can inspect the butterflies at close quarters as they flit around their favourite nectar plants.
There is also an exhibition of selected insects and reptiles, which are also very popular.
Then move onto the Botanical Gardens, created in 1884 as a nursery for the planting of tropical plants. The Botanic Gardens on Penang are located at the end of Waterfall Road; about 8 kilometres form the Georgetown city centre. You'll be fascinated by the many interesting tropical plants across this 72-acre garden, but do watch out for the free-roaming, long-tailed Macaque monkeys!
At the entrance of the Gardens you will see the Rain Tree also known as the “5 o’clock Tree” because its leaves droop in the evening. The many green houses in the Gardens house a variety of plants. The best is the Orchid House where you will be amazed with the number of dazzling orchids of countless shapes, colours and sizes.
At the end of this nature tour you will be dropped off at your hotel.
