The site is also linked to the Biblical Herod the Great who is said to have bathed in its medicinal waters. These thermal falls originate from winter rainfalls in the highland plains of Jordan and eventually feed the 109 hot and cold springs in the valley. This water is naturally heated to temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius by underground lava fissures as it makes its way through the valley before emptying into Zarqa.
Spend some memorable moments with your family at the gushing warm waterfall at the ‘family pool’ or luxuriate at the indoor Roman baths.
Hammamat Ma’in hot springs are a must- visit in Jordan, not only for their mineral richness but also the exquisite natural setting.
You will be picked up from your hotel in a private air-conditioned car/mini van and taken on a sightseeing tour of the Hammamat Ma’in Hot Springs and Waterfall, situated near the Dead Sea.
Depart from your hotel and drive along the King’s Highway to the most famous hot springs in Jordan, Hammamat Ma’in. The drive from Amman takes about one hour.
Arrive at Hammamat Ma’in. Located 264 metres below sea level in one of the most beautiful desert oases in the world, the therapeutic qualities of its hot springs and waterfall attracts has been attracting people since the ancient Roman times.
Developed into a spa resort, these hot springs (with temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius) are rich in minerals like potassium, magnesium and calcium. There are two main baths open to public, the Roman baths, which have indoor hot baths and the family pool which is beneath a small waterfall.
Light snacks will be served at the hot springs.
After enjoying the rejuvenating baths you will be dropped back to your hotel in Amman.
