The delightful Tokyo Morning Sightseeing Tour starts from Hamamatsucho Bus Terminal at 0900h (09:00am). Pick-up is also available from the hotels listed in the Additional Information section. You will travel in an air-conditioned vehicle and an English-speaking guide will accompany you.
The first stop on your tour will be the Tokyo Tower. Modeled on the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the red and white Tokyo Tower (333 meters/1082 feet tall) is actually 13 meters taller than its French counterpart, and is the world's tallest self-supporting steel tower.
You can ascend to the observatory in the Tower for stunning panoramas of Tokyo. Under good weather conditions, Mount Fuji can be seen in the distance.
You will also pass the imposing National Diet Building, seat of the Japanese parliament. The Japanese legislature (National Diet) is composed of a lower house, the House of Representatives, and an upper house, the House of Councillors, both of which operate within the National Diet building.
You will enjoy a photo-stop at the Imperial Palace Plaza. From this large space you can view the outer fortifications of the Palace (residence of the Japanese royal family) and the bridges across the moats surrounding it.
You will drive through the colorful area of Akihabara, a major discount center for electronic goods.
You will also drive past Ueno Park, the oldest and arguably the most beautiful park in the city, especially in spring when the cherry blossom is out.
You will stop at the Asakusa Kannon, Tokyo's largest and oldest Buddhist temple, and visit the brightly painted Nakamise shopping arcade nearby. This delightful street is one of the oldest shopping centers in Japan and a good place to buy souvenirs like kimonos or folding fans. Look out for the gate embellished with a giant straw sandal!
You will drive through the upscale Ginza district, Tokyo's equivalent of ‘Fifth Avenue’ and home to luxury brands such as Chanel, Gucci, and Louis Vuitton.
The tour ends at the Akihabara or Tokyo Station around 1230h (12:30pm). You should make your own arrangements to return to your accommodation. (The tour guide will tell you how to go back to your hotel.)
