With 'rastaman vibrations' blasting from the stereo, you will set off through the hills of St. Ann , the parish where reggae legend and Rastafari Bob Marley grew up.
As you follow winding roads through cascading tropical greenery and steep wild mountains, your 'ductor' (conductor/ guide) will tell you all about the life and times of the 'King of Reggae'.
On the way you can enjoy drinks (delicious rum punch, fruit punch and water) and snacks (tasty Jamaican patties). And to ensure your comfort there will be a bathroom stop.
You will reach the mountain hamlet of Nine Mile , in the middle of nowhere. This was where the reggae superstar, Bob Marley, was born in 1945, and the place where he was laid to rest after his untimely death from cancer in 1981.
You will see the family house and the fireside , where young Bob Marley cooked 'cornmeal porridge' as described in the song, 'No Woman, No Cry.'
You will see Mount Zion rock , where Marley used to meditate and rest his head on 'the pillow' immortalized in the song 'Talking Blues'.
Finally, you will walk through the mausoleum , where Bob Marley’s body is encased in a large square tomb covered by a simple cloth.
On the return trip through Higgin Town and St. Ann's Bay you will stop at the local Jerk Center for an authentic Jamaican lunch of Jerk Pork & Chicken, Rice & Peas, Festival and 'Belly Wash' Lemonade. .
At the end of your unforgettable tour, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Ocho Rios.
