You will be picked up by coach from the starting point of the tour (depending on your location) and whisked away to Milan for the first leg of this two-city expedition. A knowledgeable bilingual guide who speaks English and German will accompany you on your Milan and Bergamo tour.
Milan is a truly fascinating city that courses with cosmopolitan verve and resounds with echoes of ancient times.
Arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Piazza Castello, a magnificent structure built by legendary architect Andrea Palladio. Only two bays of the piazza were ever completed, and the mystery of why Palladio left it unfinished endures to this day.
Look up at the triumphant Sforza Castle, a 14th century masterwork beautifully restored after World War II that now houses several of the city’s museums and art galleries.
Walk through Dom Square and stare awestruck at the Milan Cathedral, where the Archbishop of Milan resides in Gothic splendor. Visit the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, a massive modern mall hidden away in a glorious 19th century palace.
Visit the Scala, a famed opera house that has hosted numberless legends of stage and song since it opened its doors in 1778.
After your two-hour guided tour you’ll have approximately 1-2 hours of free time to explore this marvelous city on your own.
Re-board your coach and drive to Bergamo, only a 40-minute jaunt from Milan. Bergamo is renowned for its rich collection of art and architecture from medieval, Renaissance, and Venetian times. You’ll have around an hour to explore the mesmerizing confluence of cultures that combine to form contemporary Bergamo.
Your coach will drop you back at the spot where you were picked up.
