Itinerary

Your tour begins with a pick-up by bus from your Reykjavik hotel or guesthouse where you’ll meet your English-speaking guide.

Whale Watching and Blue Lagoon Direct:
Your bus will take you to Reykjavik harbor. Board a boat bound for Faxaflói Bay, where all nature of magnificent marine life inhabit the emerald waters. The area is home to a unique variety of the Minke Whale, the Humpback, the Harbor Porpoise, and the White-Beaked Dolphin.

Scan the horizon for massive and incomparable whales, which epitomize poetry in motion when they arch themselves up from the water to breach. Hopefully you’ll see dolphins and porpoises dallying playfully by the side of the boat.

Keep one eye trained on the wide waters, and another on the sky, as the Puffin, Arctic Tern, Gannet, and many varieties of Gull dance among the clouds. Your whale-watching trip will last between 3 hours. The entrance to the Whale Exhibition Centre is free of charge for Whale Watching passengers.

You will be picked up from whale watching at the port around 1230h (12:30pm) and departure to Blue Lagoon at 1300h (1:00pm). After a short 45 minutes drive, you will reach Blue Lagoon around 1345h (1:45pm).

Arrive at this magical geothermal spa, which is situated in the youngest lava field in West Iceland. Bathe in soothing blue-green waters as steam rises in spectral wisps from the surface. Take a walk through the enchanting lava fields that surrounds the lagoon, or release the stress from your shoulders under a healing waterfall.

Your time at the Blue Lagoon is at leisure. We do not include the bathing fee in the tour price as many people choose to simply wander and take in the beauty of the area or have a meal at the restaurant. If you wish to bathe you may pay the fee locally.

Departures from the Blue Lagoon back to Reykjavík are at 3:00pm, 5:15pm and 7:00pm. Transfer time to Reykjavík is about 50 minutes.

Departures from the Blue Lagoon back to Keflavik International Airport are at 2:00pm and 3:00pm a 20 minute drive. You will be dropped off at the Keflavik International Airport, feeling relaxed and ready to travel.
