You will be picked up by bus from your hotel in Reykjavik, where you’ll meet your English-speaking guide, who will help you spot the whales of Faxaflói Bay.
Your bus will take you to Reykjavik harbor. Board a boat bound for Faxaflói Bay, where all nature of magnificent marine life inhabit the blue-green waters. The area is home to a unique variety of the Minke Whale, the Humpback, the Harbor Porpoise, and the White-Beaked Dolphin.
Scan the horizon for massive and incomparable whales, which epitomize poetry in motion when they arch themselves up from the water to breach. Hopefully you’ll see dolphins and porpoises dallying playfully by the side of the boat.
Keep one eye trained on the wide waters, and another on the sky, as the Puffin, Arctic Tern, Gannet, and many varieties of Gull dance among the clouds.
Return to Reykjavik Harbor and explore the Whale Exhibition Room, where you’ll learn about the biology of whales and other mysteries of the depths. The exhibition room is situated in an old capelin-fishing vessel, Filfil, which rests in the harbor.
There is no hotel drop-off for this tour. You will have to make your own way back from Reykjavik Harbor.
