You will be picked up by bus from your hotel/guesthouse in Reykjavik by an English-speaking guide that will lead you through the otherworldly caves and craters of Iceland, and to the relaxing Blue Lagoon.
Drive one hour outside Reykjavik to some of Iceland’s most spectacular lava tube caves, among geology’s most peculiar and magical masterworks.
When a red river of lava spews out of a live volcano and begins to harden into rock, there remains beneath the surface a tubular flow of lava. These underlying lava tubes leave in their wake a cave that can endure for millions of years.
Enter these incredible caves, where natural stalactites hang from the ceiling, and evocative rock formations of unusual colors wait around every corner.
Respect for nature and safety are of paramount importance on this tour. There are no handrails, lights or pre-installed tools in these caves; you will see them as they have stood for millennia, with the help of equipment provided by your guide.
Sometimes the cave floor is even, the walls are wide, and the ceiling is high. At other times, you will have to navigate irregular surfaces and proceed through low-ceilinged passages that require you to be on all fours.
Through it all, this tour will challenge the body and excite the imagination.
This tour lets you wind down after your caving adventure at the Blue Lagoon. The lagoon is a unique geothermal spa situated in the youngest lava field in west Iceland. Once there you are treated to perfect serenity - walk through the enchanted lava fields that surround the lagoon, bathe in the steamy blue-green waters, relax in a geothermal steam bath or release the stress from your shoulders under a soothing waterfall.
Your time at the Blue Lagoon is at leisure. We do not include the bathing fee in the tour price as many people choose to simply wander and take in the beauty of the area or have a meal at the restaurant. If you wish to bathe you may pay the fee locally.
You will be dropped back at your hotel in Reykjavik at tour’s end.
