The tour starts in the morning from Munich Central Train Station opposite platform 32. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, you will take a two hour guided train journey south of Munich to the town of Fussen, located at the foothills of the Bavarian Alps.
Proceed to the Neuschwanstein Castle, towering far above the village. It was built in the 19th century by the famed “mad” King Ludwig II, a man obsessed with myth and who himself became a legend.
Your tour includes a return train journey to and from the Alps with stops at various vantage points around the grounds of the castle in the foothills of the mountains. Enjoy views of the lake, the Marienbrücke bridge suspended above the castle and various other panoramic viewpoints.
The guide will give you a presentation on the story behind the castle. You can also visit the castle from the inside (optional, involves an additional cost of 9 Euros for adults). The internal tour of the castle is conducted by a separate castle guide. Reserve in advance with your group and save yourself the agony of standing in a long queue!
At the end of a splendid castle tour, you will return back to Munich Central Train Station by train.
