The Opera Garnier Ticket will let you enjoy the spectacular 2 hour ballet performance with 1st category seating for a comfortable and close view.
The ballet was originally choreographed by the Ballet Master Jean Dauberval to a pastiche of music based on 55 popular French airs. The ballet was premiered on 1 July 1789 at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux in Bordeaux.
The Wayward Daughter returned to the Palais Garnier in 2007 in Frederick Ashton's version, created for London’s Royal Ballet in 1960. To Louis Joseph Ferdinand Hérold's music, re-orchestrated by John Lanchbery, the choreographer composed a ballet replete with humor, tenderness and joy, giving new life to Dauberval’s version.
After the ballet performance, you can upgrade your ticket to include dinner at Grand Café Capucines.
Frederick Ashton's final full-length ballet is one of his most joyous creations, inspired by his love for the Suffolk countryside. The Wayward Daughter displays some of Ashton's most virtuoso choreography – the youthful passion of Lise and her lover, Colas, is expressed in a series of energetic pas de deux(step of two). The ballet is laced with good humor and a whirl of dancing chickens, grouchy guardians and a halfwit suitor take to the stage.
After the mesmerizing 2 hour performance you can upgrade this ticket to add a delicious dinner at Grand Café Capucines. Your dinner at the restaurant will include 3 choices of starter, main course and dessert, half bottle of wine and water.
