Explore the garden of Claude Monet in Giverny, where the famous impressionist artist painted the Water Lilies series. The artists’ pastel pink and green house has a lovely airy studio, which now houses reproductions of his work. Monet’s beautiful garden in Giverny is particularly delightful for its profusion of flowers in every imaginable shade and colour.

The subject of the Water Lilies series, the water pond and the Japanese bridge are a beautiful sight. The bridge is covered in purple wisterias, planted by Monet himself.

The American Art Museum houses paintings by American impressionist artists who came to France in the late 19th century. In fact, many sought inspiration and guidance from Monet, the ‘Painter of Light’.

A day trip from Paris, Giverny draws visitors to see the garden that inspired Monet to create such beautiful work.

Itinerary

You will be picked up from your hotel in Paris in an air conditioned minivan at 1315h (1:15pm). Travel along the Normandy highway to reach Giverny.

A charming country village, it was here that the impressionist painter Claude Monet chose to settle with his family and painted the famous Water Lilies series. Also referred to as the Painter of Light , Monet was one of the first artists of his time to step out of the studio and experiment with light, shadow and the different effects of sunlight on nature.

You will be free to explore at leisure and you can visit Monet's home, garden and studio on this trip to Giverny. A profusion of flowers in every possible shade and colour makes this garden a must visit. Stroll around and admire the pond and the Japanese bridge covered in purple wisteria. On this trip, you can also pick up Monet’s work as souvenirs.

Continue to the American Art Museum and see the paintings of American impressionist artists who came to France in the late 19th century.

Return to your hotel in Paris by minivan, arriving at around 1800h (06:00pm).
