The exciting Reindeer Farm Visit and Sleigh Ride in Lapland begins at Koskikatu 1, 96200 Rovaniemi. Board your vehicle and set out with your bilingual guide (English and Finnish speaking).
During your excursion you will cross the Arctic Circle, the line of latitude north of which the sun does not rise on the winter solstice or set on the summer solstice. You will receive a Diploma to record your journey over the Arctic Circle.
You will visit a reindeer farm and learn about Sami reindeer herding. This has been a part of local culture since the 17th century. The animals provide not only food and clothing for their owners, but also transport.
You will get a chance to drive a reindeer sleigh yourself. Prior to your ride, a professional herder will show you how to handle the animal. After a successful ride you will be awarded an international reindeer driving license.
You also have the chance to try the fun of snowmobiling. For children there are miniskidoos and adults can also have a go, using full size skidoos.
