You will be picked up in an air-conditioned coach/minibus from your hotel in Dubrovnik. Your guide will lead this Taste of Dalmatia Tour in English, German, French, and Italian.
Your trip begins with a drive to the charming village of Orasac. Participate in the production of olive oil made the old-fashioned way, with a horse driving the olive press.
Proceed to a house fashioned in the old Dubrovnik style, where you will be treated to some homemade cheese, smoked ham, and local wine.
Continue onwards to Mali Ston, a quaint fortified town that was a key player in the days of the Dubrovnik Republic. Its wealth and influence was derived from its lucrative salts works, which are still active today and produce some of the world’s purest salt. These days, Ston is best known as the oyster capital of Croatia. Dig into a hearty and flavorful seafood platter that includes octopus, mussels, small fish, and a single, unforgettable oyster.
Forge ahead to the Peljesac Peninsula, whose reputation for fine wines has been cultivated over the ages. Visit the Milos family wine cellar, where many of the region’s best bottles originate, and enjoy a tasting.
Stop at Ston for a short orientation tour and free time.
You will be returned to your hotel in Dubrovnik at tour’s end.
