You’ll see Cavtat, originally the site of the Roman town of Epidaurum, founded in the 4th century BC and now one of the prettiest towns on this stretch of coast.
Cavtat is full of artistic and cultural treasures. Famous structures include the elegant waterfront Church of St Nicholas with paintings by the celebrated Croatian painter Vlaho Bukovac; the 16th-century Rector's Palace with its collection of paintings, books and furniture and the Racic Mausoleum, an octagonal white dome with huge bronze doors decorated with gargoyles of dogs, eagles and winged lambs.
Join your guide for a short orientational sightseeing and later enjoy time on your own discovering this charming town with its red-roofed houses, flower-filled gardens and colorful markets.
On the return journey to Dubrovnik, you’ll stop at a mountain viewpoint which offers spectacular views of the whole area including the surrounding islands.
