Spend three sun-soaked days in the heart of Australia’s Red Centre exploring the iconic Ayers Rock (Uluru), Kata Tjuta (Olgas) and the rock formations of Kings Canyon. Watch the sun set over the undulating folds of Ayers Rock and then wake to a stunning sunrise over Uluru. Head out to Kings Canyon and marvel at this huge formation of weathered rocks and marvellous waterholes. Explore the impressive rock formations of the ‘Amphitheatre’, ‘The Lost City’, the picturesque ‘Garden of Eden’ and the breathtaking North and South Walls.

Itinerary

Day 1: Alice Springs to Yulara

You will be picked up from your Alice Springs Accommodation and taken for this tour in an air conditioned mini coach.

Heading straight to our Yulara permanent campsite for lunch, the afternoon is then spent exploring Kata Tjuta (The Olgas), before travelling to Uluru (Ayers Rock) to take in a spectacular sunset. Later we return to camp for a traditional Aussie meal. After dinner, relax around the camp, under starry desert skies. Stay at Ayers Rock Resort Permanent Campsite.

Day 2: Yulara to Kings Creek

Early rise for an exciting morning with breathtaking views of sunrise at Uluru (Ayers Rock), a World Heritage listed area. Join your knowledgeable guide for a base tour of Uluru, exploring ancient caves where Aboriginal paintings can be seen. A fascinating time learning about the oldest culture in the world. For those who really must tackle the 1.6km climb, you will also have the chance. This afternoon, travel through red sand dune and desert oak country to Kings Creek Cattle Station where optional activities are abundant. Tonight, try a traditional camp oven dinner, cooked in the coals of the fire.

Day 3: Kings Creek to Alice Springs

This morning we visit breathtaking Kings Canyon. There's no rush, as we hike around the canyon rim viewing sites like the Lost City and the Garden of Eden, as well as the striking North and South Walls. There are plenty of opportunities for photos.

We return to Kings Creek Station for lunch before travelling through sand dune country as we head back to Alice Springs, arriving approx. 06:30pm or if you wish, finish the tour at Ayers Rock Resort at 01:00pm.

Luggage should be kept to a minimum (i.e. a small soft bag).
The confirmation voucher includes the local activity operator’s contact details and local telephone numbers at the destination. They will happily answer any logistical questions you may have.

Please Note

Please call the activity operator at least 24 hours prior to start of the tour for reconfirming the departure details.
Tours are to remote areas and include some hiking through rugged terrain. Passengers should be of reasonable health and fitness and carry all required medication.
Clients must inform of any pre-existing medical problems. In certain circumstances we may request a doctor's certificate certifying fitness of travel. In certain circumstances, we may require that a carer travel with a passenger who has a mental or physical disability.
Supplier reserves the right to refuse to carry passenger who they believe may not be able to safely undertake one of the tours.
Anangu, Uluru's traditional owners, would prefer that visitors choose not to climb Uluru. Furthermore, the climb may be closed without notice due to weather or cultural reasons.
Arrival into Ayers Rock Airport on day of departure:Clients arriving before 11:30am can take the free shuttle to Outback Pioneer and use the resort facilities until their tour pick up time of approximately 1:00pm out the front of Outback Pioneer. Clients arriving after 11:30am should wait at the airport until their pick up of approximately 1:00pm.
Luggage:Our vehicles have limited space therefore please keep luggage to a minimum (small soft bag). Passengers travelling on tours that include air transfers need to observe strict luggage limitations.
There are no double beds. Only twin bedding is available.

What to bring:

Please check at time of confirmation. However, for most tours you will need the following: towel, water bottle, flash light, small pillow, toiletries and items of personal nature, hat, sturdy walking shoes, sun screen, camera and film, warm clothing for night time in winter months and wet weather gear.
