After departing from Adelaide, you will head to the Adelaide Hills, to Mount Lofty.
The Adelaide Hills are a part of the rolling hills of the Mount Loft Ranges, east of the city of Adelaide in Southern Australia. It is one of the cooler wine regions of mainland Australia and a drive through the scenic hills is a popular pastime for the local residents, due to its proximity from the main city.
While you drive down from North Terrace, Adelaide’s cultural hub, you will come across the highest peak of Adelaide Hills, the Mount Lofty Summit. Mount Lofty also gives you ample photo opportunities.
After Adelaide Hills and Mount Lofty, you will also visit some of the hideaways in Adelaide’s oldest German settlement, Hahndorf. See the over 100 year old elm and plane trees standing tall along the Main Street. You will still find the traditional Fachwerk buildings dating back to the German settlements, of which many have been restored to original conditions. The streets of Hahndorf are lined with eateries, galleries, art and craft outlets and souvenir shops.
In this hideaway tour you will visit a cellar door tucked away amidst the Adelaide Hills. Sip wine and admire the smooth and crisp taste of the winery.
Moving forward, you will visit some of the interesting places giving the best of local produce and wine like the Woodside cheese, Melba’s Chocolate Factory, Beerenberg Strawberry Farm, Nepenthe Wines, Bird in Hand and Petaluma’s – the Bridgewater Mill Cellar Door.
During the course of the tour, you will get ample time to buy local produce and wine as well as relish a 2-course lunch at a German pub in Hahndorf along with a glass of wine.
