It was a nice opportunity to see the city. I did this on my first day in Athens and it was helpful. I did the "beach" loop the second day.
Here are some ideas for improvement that made it less than perfpect:
Add more commentary - information, context, background - what we're seeing as we drive by.
Add more songs! I had to listen to the same five songs over and over and over between the brief commentary.
Have the commentary better match what we're seeing. Some of the remarks seemed random or it was spoken so fast I couldn't find what she was referring to.
The bus stops on the printed map are names (Omonia) and not numbers. The commentator refers to numbers ("get off at A-1") and not names. there's no way to cross-reference. Either use ALL names or all numbers...
I know there is nothing you can do about traffic. Riders should be aware that a loop SHOULD take 60 minutes or 110 minutes as described...but it could go much longer if traffic is bad.
Easy to purchase ticket. First bus of the morning I had entire bus to myself. By midday buses heaving. Commentary is interesting. Popular / exchange bus stop seems to be very busy all the time but they were willing to put on an extra bus if there were too many people.
Good to get to less popular spots that you might not find yourself.
We bought the combined city and beach ticket but didn’t have time to see the beach routes, which gives us a perfect excuse to return.
