Spend the day with gauchos on an authentic working ranch on this exciting day out from Buenos Aires.

Travel across the grassy pampas to Don Silvano Estancia where you will be welcomed with generous Argentinean hospitality.

During an action-packed day you can go horse-riding, explore the property and see demonstrations of the gauchos’ legendary skills. You will also be treated to a lively display of local music and dance.

And there’s no chance of going hungry. Morning and afternoon ranch-style snacks will be provided and at lunch time you’ll enjoy a mouth-watering barbecue washed down with Argentinean wine.

For your Don Silvano Ranch Day – From Buenos Aires you will be picked up from your hotel in central Buenos Aires in a comfortable vehicle.

Accompanied by your guide, you will drive out to Don Silvano Ranch, located around 87 km (52 miles) from Buenos Aires. The journey takes about an hour.

Don Silvano is a large traditional cattle ranch staffed by ‘gauchos’ – the famous cowboys of Argentina. Eight years ago, the ranch opened its doors to visitors, enabling them to learn all about the gaucho life.

You arrive at Don Silvano at around 11.00 am and will be welcomed with a reception in a traditional gaucho building known as ‘Rancho de Adobe’ You will be served a typical ranch-style snack including empanadas (meat pies), wine and juice.

At 11.30 am you will be free to explore the ranch and enjoy the various activities on offer. Visit the museum, bakery, and other parts of the property. Go horseback riding or travel around the ranch on a tractor. If you choose to go horse-riding, the gauchos will demonstrate how they saddle up the horses.

At 01:00pm you will be served an authentic Argentinean barbecue lunch. Enjoy grilled traditional sausages, short ribs, and chicken. A special salad will be prepared including Provençal potatoes mixed with carrots and eggs. Your choice of drinks includes red or white wine, cola, sparkling water and water. For dessert you will be given ice cream and coffee.

During lunch, you’ll be treated to a lively folklore show with traditional singing and dancing. Fun local dances will be performed and the audience will be invited to join in. Enjoy carriage rides, tractor rides and horseback riding. The gauchos will demonstrate skills such as horse taming and training.

After lunch, at 02:30pm, there will be further demonstrations by the gauchos including sports such as ‘Carreras Cuadreras’ (horse-racing), ‘Carrera de la Sortija’ (ring races) and more.

At 04:00pm, you will be served the energizing national drink of Argentina – ‘mate’ (hot root tea) – accompanied by sweet cakes with quince jelly.

At 04:30pm, you will board your vehicle for the return to Buenos Aires. On arrival in the city, you will be dropped back at the pick-up point.

If you do not have this information when booking, please contact the local tour operator at least 72 hours prior to the start of the tour to give your hotel name and confirm your pick-up timing. Hotel pick-up and drop-off are not available for hotels in the Palermo neighborhood. You will need to make your own way to a centrally located hotel to meet the tour vehicle. Please check with the local tour operator to see which hotel would be most suitable
