Your flexible ticket is valid for 24 or 48 hours and you can jump on and off the bus all day to enjoy the sights or browse the shops.
This Valencia Hop-On Hop-Off Tour is the perfect introduction to this exciting city. The tour on a double-decker bus starts at Plaza de la Reina, near the Tourist Office. When you board the bus, hand your isango voucher to the driver who will exchange it for a ticket. You can jump on and off all day to see the sights at your own pace.
There are two routes for the sightseeing bus:
Historic Route and Maritime Route.
Stops on the Historic Route are:
1. Plaza Reina; 2. IVAM; 3. San Pio V; 4. Nuevo centro; 5. P. Congresos; 6. Dama Ibérica; 7. Bioparc; 8. Museo Historia Valencia; 9. AVE.
Stops on the Maritime Route are:
1. Plaza Reina; 2. Plaza toros; 3. Museo Fallero; 4. Ciudad Artes y Ciencias; 5. Oceanogràfic; 6. C.C. Aqua; 7. Marina Real; 8. Las Arenas; 9. Puerto; 10. Baleares; 11. S Pio V
Both routes start close to the Tourist Office at Plaza de la Reina in the city center. The closest metro station is Colon Metro. There are numbers of departures during the day at 30 minute or 20 minutes intervals.
As you go along, you can hear an informative audio commentary on head-phones in the language of your choice. The audio guide is available in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese.
Important sights and monuments you can see from the bus include:
Miguelete: An octagonal bell-tower, which is one of the key city landmarks. From the top you can see fabulous panoramas of Valencia.
The Central Market or Mercado Central: Dates back to 1928. It is well worth a visit to experience the hustle and bustle as shoppers and traders go about their business among a fascinating and myriad array of fruit, vegetables, meat and fish stalls.
The Old Silk Exchange - La Lonja de la Seda: This beautiful former silk exchange was built in 1498. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Torres de Quart, Quart Towers: These 15th-century towers face towards Madrid and guard the entrance to the city.
Palace of Justice: An imposing 18th century palace.
Palau De La Música: A fine example of modern architecture in Valencia and one of the more important venues in Europe.
City of Arts and Sciences: One of the main attractions of Valencia. The stunning futuristic complex comprises of L’Hemisferic (Planetarium), an interactive Science Museum and the Oceanographic Park.
Torre de los Serrano: This is the old north gate of the town and is built on Roman foundations. From the massive towers there are good views of the city. Temporarily housed in the towers is the Maritime Museum, which displays antiques recovered from the sea.
You can hop-on and hop-off the bus as many times as you like during that time and choose to end your sightseeing experience at whichever stop is most convenient.
On boarding the bus, present your voucher to the driver who will exchange it for a bus ticket. The ticket will be activated immediately.
At some times of the year there will be shorter routes in operation, for example when certain streets are closed due to the celebration of festivals.
