From the Downtown Heliport your militarily trained pilot will take you on a 12 to 15 minute flight over New York. Enjoy an English narration by the pilot through the headset. (Audio commentary is also available in Spanish, Hebrew, Italian, German and French). You will fly in a 4 or 6 seat helicopter depending on demand on the day of the tour.
You’ll fly over the following landmarks:
• Statue of Liberty: This flight allows for an in-depth aerial view of the Statue of Liberty; a symbol of independence for many. She stands on Ellis Island overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. “Lady Liberty” stands at 151 feet tall upon her pedestal.
• New York Harbor: New York Harbor is an integral part of New York City. It is an expansive area comprising of the New York Bay and an array of rivers and channels all destined for the Atlantic.
• New York Financial District: The New York Financial District is located on the southern-most tip of Manhattan Island. It is here that the famed Wall Street lies.
• Ground Zero: Ground Zero is the space that remains at the site of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. The World Trade Center is currently being rebuilt.
• Empire State Building: The Empire State Building was completed in 1931. It is approximately 1,472 feet tall. There are two observation decks that are forever teeming with the masses.
• Chrysler and Met Life Buildings: Chrysler and Met Life Buildings are two of the tallest structures in Manhattan. You’ll get a perfect view of these giants on your tour!
• Central Park: With approximately 840 acres of green space, Central Park is an oasis in the concrete desert of New York City. You’ll have a spectacular view of it as you fly over Manhattan.
