  • Overview & Itinerary

    Overview

Capture the attractions of Sydney on camera and discover the very essence of the city. Photograph the spectacular Sydney Harbour, the majestic Opera House and the stunning shore side architecture of the buildings. Teeming with photographic opportunities the tour ensures that you are able to create beautiful and evocative images which you will be proud to admire and show to your friends when you get back home. The pictures and memories will stay with you forever as a lasting memento of the time you spent in this most romantic and breathtaking of cities.

This specially designed photography tour will help you to discover and experience a city through the eyes of a local photographer.

Your guide-cum-photographer has in-depth local knowledge, a passion for their city and for the art of photography. So bring your camera and be prepared to walk, shoot and click.

    Itinerary

The tour starts at the Opera House at the bottom of the steps (on the Harbour Bridge side).

You will be accompanied by your English speaking photographer/guide, Greg Dickins, who specializes in travel photography and is well versed with the attractions of the city.

Walk along the harbour in Sydney and admire the spectacular view of ships, ferries and boats.

See the Opera House, one of the most recognisable images of the modern world and one of the most photographed.

Stroll through the Botanical Gardens and photograph the rich species of flora and fauna.

See the shipping terminals and the Rocks, the historic precinct. Traditionally the home of the Indigenous Cadigal people, this rocky sandstone ledge known as The Rocks is where members of the First Fleet stepped ashore on 26 January 1788 and British settlement of Australia was first established.

Photograph the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Fondly known by the locals as the 'Coathanger', the Sydney Harbour Bridge is the world's largest (but not the longest) steel arch bridge with the top of the bridge standing 134 metres above the harbour.

At the end of the session your photographer-guide will review some of the photos taken (if you are carrying a digital camera). You will have learnt the basics of composition, the importance of light in photography, how to take balanced and attractive images, and simple techniques to take "creative" images.

The tour concludes at the Circular Quay.
