The Hermitage Museum, considered to be one of the greatest museums in the world, is housed in five historical buildings including the Winter Palace – the residence of the Russian Tsars. It has over 3 million pieces of art with dates ranging from high antiquity to the present day. Among the Hermitage’s treasures are art works by Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian, Rembrandt and Rubens. You can also admire works of impressionists and post impressionists such as Matisse and Picasso as well as many others.
