For your Northern Lanzarote Sightseeing Tour you will be picked up at a designated departure point. Accompanied by an English-speaking guide, your coach will head towards the northern part of Lanzarote island.
You will visit Teguise, an attractive town with cobbled streets and picturesque squares. Dating back to 1402, Teguise is the oldest Spanish settlement in the Canaries, and was Lanzarote’s capital for around 450 years.
Next stop is the village of Haria nestled in the Valley of 1000 Palms, a green oasis surrounded by the island’s highest mountain range. This verdant valley is in stark contrast to the barren terrain that characterizes much of Lanzarote.
Continue to Mirador del Rio, a unique lookout conceived by the artist Cesar Manrique. The facility is cleverly tucked high up in the cliffs on the site of a former cannon emplacement. Enjoy magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Chinijo archipelago – La Graciosa, Alegranza, Montaña Clara, Roque del Este, Roque del Oeste and Roque del Infierno – a marine reserve area.
You will find more of the work of Cesar Manrique at the famous volcanic caves of Jameos del Agua. Here Manrique has created a tasteful entertainment center consisting of an auditorium, swimming pool, gardens and restaurants that blends elegantly into the volcanic landscape. The site also includes an underground salt water lagoon, Jameo Chico, which is home to a species of blind albino crab, found nowhere else.
At the end of the tour, you will be dropped back at the pick-up point.
