Volcanic Dining at Timanfaya National Park is a unique experience and one you should not miss during your stay on Lanzarote. Transportation is provided and the tour departs in the early evening from one of the designated points in Lanzarote (Costa Teguise, Playa Blanca and Puerto del Carmen).
You will travel by coach to the dramatic Timanfaya National Park with its amazing volcanic landscapes, created some 300 years ago in the eruptions of 1730 -1736. Your tour takes the “Lunar Route” affording you spectacular views of the cones and craters of the Park.
Your ultimate destination isEl Diablo, the Park’s restaurant, located on top of the Islote de Hilario volcano. Designed by Lanzarote’s acclaimed architect, Cesar Manrique, its floor-to-ceiling windows offer eye-popping panoramas. Food for the guests is actually cooked on a BBQ using the heat from the volcanic vent.
As you enjoy the BBQ and look at the sunset, local musicians will play Canarian tunes to entertain you. At the end of the meal El Diablo’s famous “volcano cake” will be paraded through the restaurant. This is a cake with a difference, as it actually erupts in showers of ‘lava’!
At the end of a memorable evening you will return to the original departure point.
