This tour departs from Barrosa Park Hotel in Cadiz in the morning. Set out in an air-conditioned coach, accompanied by an English-speaking guide. You will be dropped at the little fishing town of Tarifa that faces the Moroccon port of Tangier. From Tarifa, you will board a boat that will take you across to Tangier, Morocco.
Tangier city is one of the oldest cities in Morocco. The Phoenicians and Carthaginians established trading posts here and the Romans once made it a capital city. In the early part of the 20th century, Tangier was an international city whose tax-free status and cosmopolitan image attracted European and American artists and writers.
On arrival into Tangier, your local guide will join you. The guide will accompany you throughout the whole of the Tangier city tour. See and visit many interesting places in Tangier. Some of these places are:
The Gran Socco: located on the outskirts of the town and just outside the city walls is a great place for shopping for local artefacts. Its narrow winding lanes are a movie maker’s dream.
The Medina: (or old city) with its white-washed walls still retains its engaging Moorish atmosphere. The old town also contains the famous Kasbah with its complex of castle and palace overlooking the city.
Take a break so that you can relax and enjoy lunch in a Moroccan restaurant, during which you will be entertained by some typical local music and dancing.
After lunch you will visit Petit Socco or small market. This is another picturesque locale of Tangier and a treasure trove for shoppers.
After exploring Petit Socco head back for the port. Along the way you will stop for a cup of tea.
After tea, you will board the 1500h (03:00pm) boat back to Spain. On arrival in Spain, you will board the coach and head back to Cadiz to the starting point of your tour.
