Barcelona sightseeing is incomplete without seeing the spectacular Sagrada Familia, richly and symbolically decorated, where vaults reach up to seventy meters and this tour allows you plenty of time to explore this masterpiece.
Visit the Gaudi's bizarre Parc Guell which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Keep an eye on your watch; it's easy to get lost in the whimsical design of this bizarre but compelling public park, Its Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece which is Barcelona's most famous landmark.
Travel along the Paseo de Gracia where you will see some of Gaudi’s famous apartment buildings like La Pedrera and Casa Batlló.
The tour also includes a skip-the-line entrance ticket to La Pedrera with an audio guide. This is not part of the guided tour but the ticket can be used on another day.
Your Barcelona sightseeing tour starts at 3:30pm. Accompanied by a bi-lingual guide, you will travel in an air-conditioned coach.
Make your way to the Sagrada Familia or Holy Family Cathedral where we begin our walking tour of the exterior. One of the must-see Barcelona attractions the cathedral, designed by Antonio Gaudi, it is an amazing piece of architecture that remains unfinished even after 100 years. Marvel at the expressionist artwork of the cathedral and its Nativity Façade where the theme of Christ’s birth and childhood is depicted. You will have plenty of time to explore the grounds and take photographs, entrance to the Sagrada Familia is not included.
Continuing your Barcelona tour you will reach Güell Park. This beautiful public park was created by Gaudi and declared a Heritage Site by UNESCO. Guell Park contains amazing stone structures, stunning tiling and fascinating buildings and offers wonderful views over Barcelona. You will have time at leisure to explore the park.
Your next stop is the Paseo de Gracia. This is one of Barcelona’s most elegant avenues and one of the best architectural walks in the city. Two of the highlights are Casa Milà, (also known as La Pedera), an apartment complex by Antonio Gaudi which is a fine example of Modernism. Here you will also see Gaudi’s famous and colourful Casa Batlló. Casa Batlló is one of three buildings which makes up Barcelona’s so called “Block of Discord” – the name is given due to the fact that the block contains three apartment complexes, all with such unique designs that they clash with each other.
The tour ends near the Casa Batlló at Paseo de Gracia 43, nearby is the Picasso Museum. A very popular option is to stay in the area and visit the museum (entrance fee not included in the tour price), otherwise you can re-board the coach and you will be taken back to the start point.
La Pedrera: This rippling uneven grey stone facade is yet another masterpiece of the great Antoni Gaudi. Visit La Pedrera’s extraordinary interior with a skip-the-line entrance ticket which allows you to avoid waiting in long queues. However, you may not use this entrance on the same day of the Gaudi Barcelona Tour due the closing time of La Pedrera, but you can use it after the tour day.
