You will be picked up from your hotel and taken in a private air-conditioned vehicle for an Anglo-Zulu War Battlefields tour. A professional English-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour.
Leave Durban and travel inland to Zululand, passing the rolling hills of sugar cane fields and forest plantations. Your tour will take you to all the major and famous battlefield sites of Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift, famous from the Anglo-Zulu War of 1879.
Drive through the Greytown area, along the Mvoti River and stop en route to observe the Bushman paintings etched on the hillsides.
Travel along the north coast, cutting through sugar cane plantations, past hills and the Tugela River and view the famous battle sites of Zululand.
The Isandlawana battlefield, located on the Nyani Rocks is full of memorials of British soldiers who died on 22 January 1879. The Zulu warriors killed the majority of the British force on this battlefield.
Learn of the British soldiers who held the entire Zulu regiment at bay at the battlefield of Rorke’s Drift.
You can visit the memorial of two renowned British soldiers of this battle, Lt. Coghill and Lt. Melville, at the Fugitive’s Drift.
A stop will be made for lunch on the way.
